Yes, Manon is still a member of KATSEYE, but she is currently on hiatus. In February 2026, the group announced that she would take a temporary break from group activities to focus on her health and well-being.
As of September 19, 2026, HYBE x Geffen has not announced a return date, and no one has confirmed a permanent exit.
The question has come up again because Sophia Laforteza also stepped away in August. This article covers what has been officially confirmed, what is still rumor, and what the members have said so far.
Did Manon Leave KATSEYE Permanently?
Not really. There is no official announcement that Manon has quit the group. She is currently listed as a member on hiatus and not as an ex-member since her hiatus has no set date of return yet.
Some reports point the other way, but none are confirmed. US Weekly reported that a source said she does not plan to return. She also removed “KATSEYE” from her Instagram bio, which fueled exit talk among fans. Neither HYBE nor Geffen has publicly confirmed that she is leaving for good.
Is Manon leaving KATSEYE for how long?
There is no set end date. The February announcement did not include a return timeline. Sophia’s break, by comparison, came with a planned September reassessment, while no reassessment date has ever been made public for Manon. As of today, she has been away for about seven months.
Why Did Manon Take a Hiatus From KATSEYE?
The official reason is her health and well-being. The statement said the decision followed open conversations, and that the group fully supported it. The labels have not shared specifics, and it remains unclear whether the decision was entirely her own.
miManon addressed fans herself. She wrote on Weverse that she was healthy, okay, and taking care of herself. In April, she posted again to say she was happy and healthy and that her talks with HYBE and Geffen were going well.
Speculation started well before the announcement. Since summer 2025, some fans had suspected she was preparing to leave because of her frequent absences from events. None of that has been confirmed.
When Did Manon Leave KATSEYE Activities?
Manon’s hiatus became official on February 20, 2026. Here is how things have developed since:
| Date | Event / Update |
|---|---|
| Feb 20, 2026 | KATSEYE announces Manon’s temporary hiatus for her health and well-being. |
| Apr 2026 | Manon posts about positive talks with labels; appears on Nylon cover (Apr 7); absent from “Pinky Up” MV (Apr 9). |
| Jun 2026 | Sophia states in Allure cover story that the group will give Manon time and keep the door open for her return. |
| Jul 24, 2026 | Single “Animal” is released without Manon. |
| Aug 2026 | Sophia’s temporary hiatus announced (Aug 7); WILD EP releases without Manon (Aug 14); Lara notes Manon appears in film premiere. |
| Sep 2026 | Lara denies rumors in an interview; no official return date or departure announced. |
Why Isn’t Manon Appearing in KATSEYE’s New Releases?
She is currently on hiatus, so the group has been making music without her. “Pinky Up” was their first video without her, and WILD is their first multitrack album since she went on hiatus.
WILD was released on August 14, 2026, and does not feature Manon. It still did well commercially. The EP debuted on the US Billboard 200.
What Has KATSEYE Said About Manon
The members have said they support her and want her back whenever she is ready. Their statements so far:
- February: The group said it looks forward to being together again when the time is right.
- June: Sophia said the group would not assume anything about her return.
- August: Lara called Manon a forever part of the KATSEYE story. In a TODAY interview, the group said they stand by both Manon and Sophia.
- September 19: Lara told Swedish program Lilla Aktuellt that the rumors about Manon and Sophia are not true. She also said it is not the members’ place to discuss their return.
Lara’s comments are not a formal announcement. They do show the members are pushing back on the exit rumors.
Manon’s KATSEYE Return Status
Manon is still part of the team, and her comeback has not been scheduled yet. However, nothing has been officially said that would suggest her comeback won’t take place anytime soon.
Any real update will most likely come from HYBE x Geffen or from Manon herself. She said in April that she would share more soon. Until then, treat unsourced reports as unconfirmed.

Conclusion: Manon is Still a KATSEYE Member But is Currently on Hiatus
Manon is still a member of the group and has been on a temporary hiatus since February 20, 2026. HYBE x Geffen has not announced a departure or a return date, so her status has not changed.
The group members have stated that the rumors circulating about Manon and Sophia are false and that they still love them. Until there is any statement from the labels or Manon regarding their relationship, the best places to check out for updates would be on HYBE x Geffen and Weverse.
